Victoria Toews was born in Los Angeles, California, but her family moved to Oklahoma when she was two years old. She attended Ketchum SDA Church School from the first grade through the tenth grade. She then went to Ozark Adventist Academy for her junior and senior years of high school. After high school she went to real estate school and then headed to Keene, Texas where she attended Southwestern Adventist University and received a bachelor's degree in elementary education. During her second year of college she married Terry Toews. They have two wonderful grown children, a great son-in-law, a sweet daughter-in-law, and two beautiful grandchildren.
Victoria taught kindergarten in Vinita, Oklahoma for the public school system for twenty-nine years, and she earned a master’s degree in early childhood education at Northeastern State University during this time. She is also a Child Development Associate (CDA) Professional Development Specialist and has taught child development classes for adults in the Vo-Tech system. She taught at Ketchum Adventist Academy for six years, teaching pre-school, pre-k, kindergarten, first and second grade, and seventh- through tenth-grade English. She currently teaches pre-k and kindergarten at Tulsa Adventist Academy, which she enjoys very much. She would never have guessed that she would be teaching in Tulsa, but she believes that God opened doors and closed others to bring her to TAA. Jeremiah 29:11 is one of her favorite Bible verses, and she believes in God’s plan for her life.
